So I went to the hospital again for a check up with a physio specialist in wrist problems. The first time being for an x ray, the second being the above. Anyways, turns out I don’t have RSI but wrist tendonitis in my right hand and the only cure (apparently for me) is a cortisone injection into the area. Yay more injections. She doesn’t know though what causes the stiffness and the fingers locking. Ah well…maybe all will be told in time.

1. Put your iPod (or other source of music) on shuffle mode.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write the name of the song no matter what. No cheating!

What does no cheating mean? If your ipod accidently reshuffles itself, does that count as cheating? (If lyrics are wanted, leave a comment and lyrics will be added.)

(Well…there are only two sexes in the world? )

New sub blog

06Apr08

Right..now I know you’re wondering about the title, but I’ve found the site tumblr and discovered it’s a good picture blog for me. If you’re looking for the link, it’s: http://sha.tumblr.com

What I am going to do is keep this as my main blog, but when I add photos, add it to tumblr and then link it here. Big posts are going to be done here because of the pain of typing long posts in tumblr in that layout (though I love it).

So here’s for the first one: http://sha.tumblr.com/post/30933727

Comment below!

Okay, first off had to make a comment for the new dashboard for those of you who use wordpress. The first thing I noticed after logging onto my blog dashboard was the change in colour theme. Have to admit it was a shock to the system after all I found the old one rather neat and tidy and this one more cluttery. If anyone has a clue how to change the colour scheme or make it even less cluttery please let me know!

Right. Now top ten things I want and am going to save for are as listed below. Feel free to contribute any money towards said stuff for my birthday (yes I know I have a while to go!).

1. Sunglasses.

I decided, with the increase use of my contact lenses, come this summer a pair of sunglasses would be useful. My idea type would be a wrap around sports pair as pictured above. Not only will it stay on my face when I’m in Sri Lanka, it also prevents dust getting into my eyes whilst wearing my contacts during the day in Sri Lanka. If anyone knows where I can get a polarised pair in London please do let me know. Please also let me know if you find the price.

2. Glasses Frame

Next would be a pair of glasses frame. Why? Well mine have finally gotten to the stage where I’m pretty sure I can claim for a new pair on the NHS due to wear and tear. How so? Well, one lense keeps popping out if you’re not careful, one hinge is bent completely that one temple is doesn’t fold properly, it sits wonky on my face and the final problem is that it keeps falling off my face if I turn to look at the ground. Only slight problem is I at the moment don’t have enough cash, and I’m pretty sure boots will make me go for another eye test before letting me use the voucher incase my sight measurements have changed. Hopefully I’ll have cash for this in the next couple of weeks.

3. Claddagh Ring

I know this ring has sentimental value behind it and should be traditionally be given by a lover or a spouse, but I don’t tend to follow tradition and quite like the design. I use to own one that I brought from America a while ago whilst at a market, but then gave it to my cousin when she was going through a hard time. I never forgot about this ring and have been looking for a simple silver version for a while for myself in London. Again, very hard to find that one day I’m tempted to take a trip to Ireland to buy one. Argos sell some for £30 but I’m wondering, again, if it’s worth buying it for £30, unless someone can tell me where I can buy one for a cheaper price in London. In case if you’re wondering about the tradition of this ring, here is the basic meaning. The heart stands for love, the crown for loyalty and the hands for friendship. The ring is usually given in friendship or marriage. If the heart is pointing towards the person, that means the person is in love or belongs to someone. If the heart points outwards, the person is single. Again, the position of the ring on different fingers means different things. If the ring is on the right hand of the wearer and the heart is pointing in, the above description explains it, same with the heart pointing outwards. However, if the ring is worn on the left hand ring finger, the heart pointing outwards, means they are engaged, the heart pointing inwards means they are married.

4. Ceylon Tea

As you know I’m of Sri Lankan origin, and have developed from my dad a love for tea. For some strange reason, I just can’t seem to do coffee. Anyways, every year I go to Sri Lanka, my mother and aunts (who know I’m a tea drinker) always buy Dilmah tea for me. Expensive but oh so worth it. Only problem is you cannot find Dilmah on the shelves these days in the UK so I am forced to bring some back from Sri Lanka (if we have space in our suitcase). If you believe you may have heard of Dilmah, you might have infact seen their logo on the Sri Lankan cricket team.

5. Boots

As you recall, I brought the above boots (Moody Gloom from Clarks) but was forced to return them after two weeks when the sole fell off. On the bright side they did return the £60 I paid for them. The only other problem, I now don’t own a pair of every day boots I can wear. I know it’s out of season for them, but come winter, I’ll probably invest in a new pair. If however, I do see a pair I do like this season, most likely I’d buy a pair. First though I’d need to hunt one down.

6. Golden Hair Clip.

My leaver’s ball is coming up in June and I’ve already got my outfit. A brown dress (some of you might remember the picture on my blog I posted in november) and gold shoes. I’ve also got a gold necklace (that I don’t really like) with matching earrings, but having nothing for my hair. To get the hairstyle I’d like, I’d need to find a gold claw clip/bull dog clip which should be interesting to locate as the last one I found was in a stall near my school. Suffice to say, they no longer stock them. Now the challenge? To find a gold one as I already own a silver one.

7. Gold necklace and earrings.

As you know, I have a leaver’s ball coming up, and although I have a gold necklace, I don’t quite like the style of it so am going to have to hunt for a new one. The funny thing is I have the above picture necklace in silver and white crystal. I got it in a sale since it was slightly damaged.

As you can guess it’s been pretty much a busy time for everyone. Exam results come in tomorrow, people have university applications going through, getting the results of whether or not the university wants them, wondering where they want to go for university (my current problem). So yeah, that’s just some of the main reasons I haven’t blogged in a while. The main one, I know you guys won’t be surprised, is that I was lazy.

After spending weeks being behind in my work, for once, today, I’m finally done. I’ve caught up. The past two weeks were a nightmare. The chemistry department took no pity on us and gave us enough coursework to keep us busy for two weeks, mixed in with a mock. I lost two weekends to coursework! The maths department were hounding me for homework, and economics. I think they forgot I owed homework. Oh well.

End of my ramble for the time being. Blogging might be spontaneous for the next couple of weeks due to work loads etc etc. Till then!

I was flipping through my daily dose of ctrl+alt+del comics and ended up laughing at this comic. My father and I have always wondered how my mother has managed to do this when some important decision needs to be made.

Twice today I went to play the lottery. Twice I was forced to show ID. I’m an 18 year old girl who apparently passes as a 15 year old all because of the fact I hardly wear make up. Thank goodness for ID.

My mother has once again proven to me (though she repeatedly denies this) that she’s babying my brother. For the past 2 years when my brother and I have to tidy up downstairs (which is a big job) and he just keeps his behind on a chair and watches anime on the computer. She’s like…oh you know what’s he’s like. It’s easier to get the job done yourself. I keep fighting back though and told her several times to her face then why bother getting me to do it as well, as especially I don’t use downstairs but only my bedroom. My mother completely ignores it and then yells at me for not cleaning downstairs when she told me too. Another thing this is proven by is..like Ish…our family is big on studies, but instead of telling my brother to get it when I’m working and again he’s watching anime, she makes me go and get it whilst I’m working! If I dare answerback and tell her to get my brother to do it I get yelled at again for my trouble (though she conviently forgets that at my brother’s age I was doing all this and more for her). And then the final problem was this morning, we usually take shifts in getting up to go to the bathroom first. Last week it was my turn. I got up at 6am every morning whilst my brother got to stay in bed till 6.45. This week it’s my turn, but guess what….she lets him sleep in though I’m up late working. The funny thing is she claims she’s not babying him..but the evidence is she is. Now I’m taking that and using it to basis my assumption on why she’s struggling to control him.

So my ADT post, I had to defend twice from two idiots who decided not to read the post before commenting and insulting me. For those of you who can’t be bothered to read it, a summary of it is that I told the company to come before one, and then when they came at 2 and I had to go, I got yelled and abused by the engineer (who’s not cheap btw and by abused I mean hurled swear word after swear word for five minutes straight). Now that’s not the behaviour I expect from a reputed company so hence I wrote a blog post complaining about it. Now I’ve got two people who commented, insulting me about the whole thing and I’ve got a funny feeling they haven’t read the post properly. Now that’s just one of the few things I hate.

Well 4th of February is traditionally known as Sri Lankan Independence day, where we broke away from UK ruling.

So I’d like to take the chance of wishing all the Sri Lankans out there a happy independence day!

On the bright side, I have finally ordered myself a hoodie. It’s quite expensive (£1 8) but it has my school logo and my name printed on the back. Colour wise there was a choice but I went with my traditional black. Why? Because it matches everything else in my cupboard. I only hope it fits me. Best part is, mum couldn’t complain as it’s a leaver’s hoodie. Only downside is I hope my brother doesn’t snitch it because I’m only having my first initial with my surname on the back..and guess what…he has the same initials too.
